VOLUME CALCULATION
FOR AIR SHIPMENTS
Volume weight is calculation for air shipment based on 6 m³ = 1000 kg
Example; to calculated volume weight of a box with dimensions of 60*40*30 cm;
0,6 x 0,4 x 0,3 = 0,072 m³ and volume weight is;
0,072 x 1000 / 6 = 12 kg. Chargeable weight will be 12 kg if gross weight is lower.
FOR ROAD SHIPMENTS
Volume weight is calculation for road shipment based on 3 m³ = 1000 kg. Usually pricing is calculated over m³ in road shipments. So if gross weight is higher than 1000 kg per 3 m³, then it will be billed over kg/m³ ratio.
Example; a shipment which is 2 m³ and 1000 kg will be billed over 3 m³. A shipment which is 4 m³ and 1000 kg will be billed over 4 m³.
FOR OCEAN SHIPMENTS
Volume weight is calculation for ocean shipment based on 1 m³ = 1000 kg. Usually pricing is calculated over m³ in road shipments. So if gross weight is higher than 1000 kg per 3 m³, then it will be billed over kg/m³ ratio.
Example; a shipment which is 1 m³ and 2000 kg will be billed over 2 m³. A shipment which is 3 m³ and 2000 kg will be billed over 3 m³.
